Governor Tim Walz said Monday afternoon he’ll try to announce by week’s end whether he’ll extend closures for bars, restaurants, fitness centers and youth sports beyond December 18th. The governor says hospital space will be one determining factor, and even though COVID cases in Minnesota have flattened of late…

“The question I think we’re all asking is, will that plateau start to come back up again because of Thanksgiving?   We should start to see that about right now, and it could extend another two weeks.”

The governor says he’d like to announce his decision this week to give businesses and others as much advance notice as possible. But Walz wouldn’t speculate whether some regulations could be dialed back.
