A Mankato goal is to reduce garbage and increase recycling. In a continued effort to increase and improve sustainability practices in the city of Mankato, staff have launched a test recycling program in three city parks that feature year-round activities:
- Alexander Park, 900 E. Main St.
- Stoltzman Park, 521 W. Pleasant St.
- Thomas Park, 100 Thomas Park Court
Staff will monitor the bins’ use to help determine if improvements should be made. If successful, the program will launch in other high-use locations such as Sibley Park, 900 Mound Ave., and other sites near park shelters, ball fields and courts beginning spring 2021.
