The Minnesota Medical Association (MMA) is urging Governor Tim Walz and all state leaders to immediately embrace expanded COVID-19 controls to protect the health and safety of all Minnesotans.

“People are spilling out of ERs, our hospital units, our intensive care units are full, healthcare workers are falling ill and it is becoming clear that additional restrictions are needed if we are going to get through this together.”

MMA President Marilyn Peitso says health care workers are nearing their breaking point and anything that limits the interaction of people in closed spaces is necessary. Governor Walz is expected to announce new restrictions to help combat the spread of coronavirus later today.
