COVID hospitalizations in Minnesota have hit another record high — 1,669, with 346 of those patients in I-C-U. The state’s rate of new infections in now comparable to Iowa and Wisconsin, although still less than North and South Dakota.   Former state Representative Nick Zerwas, who has had 10 surgeries for a hereditary heart condition, says he’s been sick before — but COVID….

“I became so overwhelmed and ill from this virus.   It happened so quickly and it progressed so fast.”

Zerwas, a Republican from Elk River, says two weeks ago he didn’t know one person in Sherburne County who tested positive for COVID, and now he can name 40.
