Healthcare workers are encouraging Minnesotans to limit exposure to other people and to mask up as COVID-19 cases continue to surge in Minnesota and across the midwest. Kelly is a Minnesota nurse with 12 years of experience, the last six as an intensive care worker.

“For nurses, this pandemic has taken an emotional toll, up until nine months ago, nurse was my only professional title, suddenly I’ve earned a new designation, front-line worker.”

Kelly says that’s a “laughable” name, because it implies there’s a “second-line” waiting in the wings. She is urging Minnesotans to take the pandemic seriously, and to limit contact with people outside their household to help combat the virus’ spread.
