Governor Tim Walz said the state is making significant progress in ending veteran homelessness in Minnesota.

“This is not about placing someone for an evening and this is not about us not believing that more veterans will come into the system and fall on this, but it is about creating a deep safety net that is there to lift them up.”

Speaking at the Minnesota World War 2 memorial Walz says the steps we have taken to “functionally eliminate” veteran homelessness through the Homeless Veterans Registry. Placement in the registry typically puts a veteran in a home in four months.
