As some absentee voters in Minnesota scramble at the last minute, Democratic Senator Tina Smith says there’s “no question” their ballots should be counted if they’re postmarked by Election Day:

“Those have been the rules that we have run this election by, until just a few days ago when a federal court changed the rules in the middle of the election, throwing a lot of confusion out there.”

But Republican challenger Jason Lewis says he’s uncomfortable with counting ballots received after Election Day:

“The idea that you say, well, we can receive a ballot after Election Day without inviting mischief, is something that I think has to be taken into consideration.”
