The nationwide watch for a covid-19 vaccine continues. Minnesota Department of Health Infectious Disease Director Kris Ehresman says they fully intend to move ahead with the distribution of a vaccine once they are sure it is safe.

“We will take our lead from the advisory committee on the immunization practices, a national independent committee that will only recommend a vaccine that has met the safety criteria.”

The immunization practices committee operates under the umbrella of the C-D-C. Ehresmann says they already have the framework of a distribution plan in place, but will continue to refine it as needed.
