Democrats plan to boycott today’s (Thurs) U-S Senate committee vote on President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett, but can do little to stop Republicans from confirming her before the election. On the Senate floor late Wednesday, Minnesota Senator Tina Smith said reputable research found 61 percent of Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most instances:
“Some of my Republican colleagues must know that they are out-of-step with the American people.”
Paul Stark with Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life responds:
“There’s lot of polling that shows there’s strong support among Americans for increased protections for unborn children and their mothers.”
Pro-choice groups warn Roe -v- Wade could be overturned if Barrett joins the high court.
