State public safety officials are encouraging you to slow down when traveling on Minnesota roads. So far this year 308 people have died across the state in motor vehicle crashes. During a news conference Tuesday more than 300 empty black chairs sat in the cold and snow, symbolizing those who will not be coming home:
“That’s 300 souls that are not going to be coming home for Thanksgiving, Halloween, or Christmas.”
Booker Hodges, Assistant Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
