The U-S Department of Justice unveiled a new National Response Center Initiative. Officials say the program would offer assistance to the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) to support law enforcement and review, enhance and reform policies and practices to prevent the use of excessive force. U-S Attorney for Minnesota Erica MacDonald says she and MPD Chief Medaria Arradondo have spoken with community leaders…

“And the voices have risen up as the Chief and I have gone around the city and have spoken with individuals say “we need, good police, we need police, we need good police”

Chief Arradondo says the MPD has diminished resources and has become “one dimensional” in recent months with police only able to respond to patrol calls and conduct investigations.
