Top Republican state lawmakers pledge if voters give them majorities in the Minnesota House and Senate in the upcoming election, they’ll safely re-open schools including athletics, end one-size-fits-all restrictions on business, and allow houses of worship to safely re-open. Senate Republican Majority Leader Paul Gazelka:
“We’re not saying that the virus isn’t serious, but we are saying more and more of the science is showing that kids need to be in school, and the fact is that it’s not a super-spreader situation.”
State Democratic Party Chairman Ken Martin warns if Republicans win the election, COVID cases will spike, hospitals will be overwhelmed, and more Minnesotans will die. Gazelka calls it scare tactics which he hopes Minnesotans see-through.
