The president of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association is urging farmers across the state to make sure they are up to date on the political landscape. Tim Waibel farms in south-central Minnesota and says:
“We are coming up shortly election here real shortly within a few weeks. And, I think engaging your people that are willing to run for office is probably the biggest thing. Get to know them, get to know the subjects with them.”
Waibel says lawmakers are considering a bill that would require fuel retailers to increase ethanol in most gasoline sold in Minnesota from 10-percent currently to 15-percent. He says he’d like to see that approved during his tenure with the Corn Growers.
