Union members from different essential industries met at the Minnesota Workers Memorial Thursday to highlight what they called a lack of support from employers when it comes to COVID-19 safety protocols. Daniel Murphy, a union steelworker at a Twin Cities manufacturing firm, says the workers should have been listened to from the beginning of the crisis.

“I can attest that the ongoing problems I’m having with my employer could have been avoided with input and participation from those doing the work.”

The union-backed event called for more personal protective equipment, better guidance and more support from employers and government.
