At 4:39 p.m. yesterday, Mankato Public Safety responded to a report of a male, who appeared to be in distress, sitting on the railing of the North Star Bridge. Officers spoke with the individual and were able to de-escalate the situation. The individual walked with them to an ambulance, which transported him to the local hospital.
Northbound traffic on U.S. Highway 169 was closed to all traffic for about an hour. Public Safety was assisted by Blue Earth and Nicollet counties’ Sheriff’s Offices, the Minnesota State Patrol and the North Mankato Police Department.
