A Minnesota House Committee on Racial Justice today (1pm) is addressing historical trauma’s impact on structural racism.

“We know that trauma is very powerful and that it can get under the skin and that it can be transmitted through generations, and we know that we have to acknowledge and reckon with our painful past if there’s going to be healing.”

Committee Co-chair, Representative Ruth Richardson of Mendota Heights. This is the third committee hearing so far with lawmakers exploring aspects of racial injustice in the wake of recent unrest following the death of George Floyd.
