North Mankato, Minn. Shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020, officers from the North Mankato Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance outside of the Roadhouse 169 Bar & Grill, located at 1006 N River Drive. The 911 caller reported that a verbal altercation had taken place during which a male suspect brandished a handgun.
The suspect left in a vehicle prior to police arriving. The vehicle and suspect were found in a nearby parking lot by responding officers and the suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint.
Through the window of the suspect’s vehicle officers observed a Glock handgun case and paper targets with bullet holes.
Officers spoke to witnesses who stated that during the altercation the suspect had pointed the handgun at another person’s head. No one was injured during the altercation.
A search warrant was executed on the suspect’s vehicle where officers located a loaded 9mm handgun.
Anthony R. Bendjebar, age 31, of Chaska, was arrested and charged in Nicollet County Court with two counts of felony 2nd Degree Assault, two counts of felony Threats of Violence, and one count of gross misdemeanor Carrying a Pistol without a Permit.
North Mankato Police were assisted by Mankato Police and the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office.
