This year the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign will start earlier than ever, and the Army is already asking for volunteers to man the kettles. Spokesperson Brian Molohon with the Salvation Army of the North says they recognize concern surrounding COVID-19, but encourages anyone who might feel comfortable manning a kettle to take the step and sign up.

“That would be the call to action that I would put out there. We’ve really looked at this and said, okay, how can we make sure that the volunteers coming out to ring bells are going to be safe. And I think we’ve found a good spot in there to land.”

Molohon says they always find a kettle with a bell ringer brings in more cash than a kettle on its own. People can sign up now at The Red Kettle Campaign begins on November 13th.
