President Trump continues to question whether voting by mail in the November election will lead to widespread fraud. The president speculated about the security of mail-in voting during Tuesday night’s debate. Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon says:
“President Trump himself votes by mail, so it was disappointing that he made that allegation, and in Minnesota, it is a time-tested and very secure way of voting.”
Simon says Minnesota’s mail-in voting system has triple layers of security with a bar code attached to every ballot, personal identifying information and a required voter signature. Simon says Minnesotans are requesting ballots by mail in record numbers this year.
