Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on September 24th, 2020, emergency crews were dispatched to a residence on the 2000 block of Round Table Rd. in Avalon Estates for a report of a suspected drug overdose.
Arriving officers found an unresponsive 32-year-old male inside the home and administered Naloxone, a medication designed to rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and began CPR. The male was transported by ambulance to MCHS-Mankato where he is listed in critical condition.
North Mankato Police and the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force are investigating.
“There has been an increase in overdoses in the area and region as of late,” says Chief of Police Ross Gullickson. “This causes us great concern as these substances can be lethal when taken, even in the smallest of amounts. Area law enforcement continues to work diligently to find those who distribute this ‘poison’ in our communities.”
