As a part of rail safety week Minnesota Operation Lifesaver is rolling out the fourth annual “Operation Clear Track” initiative. Executive Director Sheryl Cummings says the event brings police, fire, and other first responders together with the public to talk about staying safe around train tracks.
“Just be aware, that whenever we see tracks, we should always be expecting a train, always be thinking train. We’re just trying to raise awareness, trying to stop some of these track tragedies.”
Cummings says this year the outreach will be digital, but they still hope to have a significant impact on overall awareness.
