Crop producers in the immediate area have been lucky when it comes to weather this summer according to local ag expert Kent Thiesse.

“Since we had the big rains back in July which caused some drown-out conditions, we’ve missed most of the severe weather,” said Thiesse. “We’ve had pretty good growing conditions and the crops in this area, for the most part, are in pretty good shape.”

Thiesse says in extreme southern and western Minnesota and in parts of Iowa and South Dakota crops are struggling.
