The Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton school district has started the year exclusively in distance learning for grades seven through 12. JWP Principal Grant Hanson says district officials are constantly assessing the situation. Hanson says they receive new numbers from the state every Thursday.

“We get new numbers every Thursday,” said Hanson. “Our team takes a look at those numbers and consults with area health representatives to come up with plans to keep our kids healthy and safe.”

Hanson says as of now with the case numbers in Waseca County, the Minnesota Department of Education has recommended distance learning for seventh through 12th grades.
