New Ulm Police are investigating a case of potential motor vehicle tampering. Authorities say the alleged incident occurred Sunday afternoon shortly after four p.m. in the Hy-Vee parking lot. Police say an individual popped the hood open of an unoccupied vehicle and when the owner of the car came out of the store, they were unable to start the vehicle. Officers identified a 27-year-old man in connection to the case, which has been turned over to the city attorney’s offering for potential charges.
