Governor Tim Walz and U-S Senator Tina Smith today are highlighting the need for child care during coronavirus. Earlier this summer, a $50 billion federal funding package for the nation’s child care system passed in the House but not the Senate. Senator Smith says the Senate needs to act now…

“Childcare is the basic infrastructure of families and our economy and that’s why I put such a priority on making sure that we’re supporting childcare.”

In July, Governor Walz announced a plan to distribute more than $56 million to child care providers and now he’s calling for federal support for parents in need as school is about to start amid COVID-19.
