Republicans, keying into some northern Minnesotans’ discontent with Democrats, brought in a voice from the state’s timber industry during the Republican National Convention Wednesday night. Scott Dane with Associated Contract Loggers and Truckers of Minnesota:

“The last time Joe Biden was in the White House, Minnesota lost nearly half of its mills, thousands of jobs, and experienced nearly a decade of decline…. In 47 years in Washington, Joe Biden hasn’t done anything for the timber industry.”

“I haven’t seen any change in that during the Obama years, no changes during the Trump years,… and to say that somehow Donald Trump is gonna do that would surprise me, because he’s had three years to do it and it hasn’t happened.”
