Aliya Mukamuri, Mankato Area Public Schools’ East High School, received a Spotlight Education Triple Threat Award from the Hennepin Theatre Trust. Triple Threat honorees are recognized for their excellence in singing, acting and dancing, as well as demonstrating community leadership, teamwork and artistry.

Following a series of vigorous evaluations, Mukamuri was one of six students selected for the honor from among the more than 100 students across the state who applied. As an honoree, Mukamuri receives the Spotlight Education Triple Threat Broadway Experience, an all-expense paid trip to New York City (when it’s safe) to meet with industry professionals, participate in workshops and attend Broadway shows.

“Her hard work, dedication and accomplishments were important to helping her achieve this honor,” says Todd Waterbury, activities director.
