The DFL is going after Congressman Jim Hagedorn over e-mails between Hagedorn and members of his congressional staff that seem to show the southern Minnesota Republican was personally involved in decisions about a high volume of publicly-funded constituent mail that led to the dismissal of his chief of staff. DFL Chair Ken Martin:

“Congressman Hagedorn has shown incredible lack of ethics here and an understanding of the law, he has clearly broken all sorts of ethics laws in Washington and he needs to be held to account for this.”

Reports show that Hagedorn spent more of his total office budget than any other member of Congress by the end of March. Hagedorn fired his chief of staff Peter Su earlier this month saying decisions about mailings had been “fully delegated” to Su.
