State Representative Jeremy Munson of Lake Crystal says they haven’t received a ruling yet on a legal challenge to Governor Walz’s use of emergency powers related to COVID-19.

“Judge Galligan in Ramsey County has not ruled,” said Munson. “We’ve only filed in federal court and we haven’t heard on that either. We’re trying to do everything we can to get the judicial branch to rule on the executive branch’s abuse of power.”

Walz is one of 13 lawmakers challenging Governor Walz’s use of emergency powers. Munson says the judge has 90 days to issue a ruling, meaning the case could be decided as late as October. Currently, the Governor’s emergency powers run through September 11th.
