State health officials have a message for students getting ready to return to college amid COVID-19:

“We urge students to plan to avoid settings likely to have a higher risk of COVID transmissions such as crowded bars and house parties.”

State epidemiologist Dr. Ruth Lynfield is encouraging students to stay at home and only interact with people they live with for at least 14 days before returning to campus. And she’s telling students to wear masks, social distance and get tested when appropriate.
