An Owatonna man was arrested after leading authorities on a chase through Blue Earth and Waseca counties Friday morning. Blue Earth County court records say 34-year-old Josh Watkins was charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, driving while suspended and two counts of fifth-degree possession of drugs. Authorities say Watkins was searching for a cell phone near Highway 83 and 615th Avenue. After Watkins identified himself to an officer, the officer notified Watkins of a warrant for his arrest out of Rice County. The court report said Watkins ran to his vehicle and lead authorities on a case into Waseca County where stop sticks disabled the vehicle and he was arrested without incident. Authorities say the charges out of Rice County included fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and fifth-degree possession of drugs.
