President Trump stops in Mankato this afternoon (2pm) as part of his campaign sweep on the opening day of Democrats’ national convention. Minnesota Republican Party Chair Jennifer Carnahan says they’re “beyond excited” about the president’s visit:

“We know this is going to bring additional energy and enthusiasm for all of our Republican candidates on the ballot.”

D-F-L Party Chairman Ken Martin says about the president’s visit:

“He’s gonna get a rude awakening when he comes to Minnesota. This is not a state that’s highly supportive of him right now.”

The president’s event is at the Mankato airport. Later in the day he’ll be in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
