President Donald Trump is planning to make a stop in Mankato today, part of a three-state, one day swing that coincides with the opening of the national Democrat convention. Republican Minnesota Senate candidate Jason Lewis says the president’s visit is further proof that Minnesota is up for grabs in November.

“I don’t think it is a coincidence that we’re both doing very well in Minnesota and that Minnesota is in play. After all, no one thought Michigan or Wisconsin would be in play. So it is only a matter of time.”

Lewis pointed to an Emerson College poll that showed the president within two percentage points of Joe Biden in Minnesota. The same poll showed Lewis in a statistical tie with Senator Tina Smith.
