Blue Earth County is few counties in Minnesota that have held jury trials since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Scott Cutcher is the chief public defender for the fifth district.
“There are only certain counties that can have trials right now,” said Cutcher. “They have to have a plan that is signed off by the commissioner of health to make sure they’re compliant with the regulations.”
Cutcher says Blue Earth County held its second trial this week since March.
