A month-long enforcement push earlier this summer found speeding is a major problem on Minnesota roads, with speed-related fatal crashes double what they were in prior years:

“We still are operating with a lot of people working from home… and we have a lot more available lane space for drivers to use and abuse. And quite honestly some drivers are taking great liberties and are taking that abuse to a whole ‘nother level.”

Mike Hanson with the state Office of Traffic Safety says during the crackdown 40 law enforcement agencies clocked drivers going over 100 miles-an-hour.
