The statewide tobacco sale age goes up to 21 Saturday. Laura Smith with Minnesotans for a Smoke-Free Generation says:
“This is a really important step toward reducing youth tobacco use and preventing youth addiction and we really hope that it’s a first of many steps to prevent youth tobacco addiction in all forms.”
Smith says that further steps include banning the sale of flavored tobacco products. Tobacco 21 passed in the state legislature with strong bipartisan support.
