The Mankato Marathon is on for October 16th and 17th but will have a different look this year. Anna Thill is the president of Visit Mankato.

“The full marathon and the relay will be virtual only,” said Thill. “We had to make that difficult decision for safety reasons, to mitigate the budget we have to work with, and our impact on the community.”

Thill says many things will remain the same

“We’re still trying to provide a great in-person race with that urban feel and our trail system,” said Thill. “We’re still trying to provide a great in-person experience and to do so in the safest way possible.”

Thill says the annual Toddler Trot and Diaper Dash have been canceled and the Sport and Health Expo will move to the River Hills Mall. Any changes to the schedule will be listed at Mankato-marathon-dot-com.
