Minnesota lawmakers will head back to St. Paul Monday for another special legislative session. State representative Jeff Brand of St. Peter is hoping for accomplishments and not partisanship.

“People deserve better,” said Brand. “What happened during the last special session, we should be ashamed that we got nothing accomplished.”

Brand says important issues are still unresolved

“We still need to talk section 179 of the tax code, we need to talk bonding and police reform is also a necessary conversation,” said Brand.

Brand says while he understands the concern over the Governor’s peacetime emergency order continuing, the partisanship lawmakers showed in June proved as of right now the Governor can lead the COVID-19 efforts being than 201 lawmakers.
