Minnesota Department of Health commissioner Jan Malcom says don’t expect a rerun of the Minnesota COVID-19 model anytime soon. Malcom says she recently asked the department of health and University of Minnesota representatives about the situation
“I know that they are continuing to work on updating the model,” said Malcom. “I do expect another run in the next few weeks but it is not imminent.”
Malcom says even without the model there’s a variety of data available for their analysis.
“Case growth. Testing volume, new admissions into the hospital, percent of community spread”, said Malcom. “We’re also looking at surveillance indicators about the types of conditions people are coming to the doctor for or going to the emergency room.
MDH reported eight COVID-19 deaths Wednesday. It was the 15th time in 17 days the state has seen single-digit COVID-19 deaths.
