The COVID-19 crisis will have a large and lasting impact on the air travel industry.
“I’ve been in the industry probably 35, 36 years now, and I thought the biggest speedbump in my career was 9/11. but this is much deeper.”
Brian Ryks is the CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission and says Minneapolis St. Paul International is well poised to meet the challenge ahead.
“We’ve been a leader in the industry from a passenger experience standpoint, a quality passenger experience. Part of that was our standards around cleanliness in our washrooms in our terminal facilities. So we think we were a step ahead of the game there.”
Ryks says consistent federal standards for air travel post-COVID, will be crucial to the industry recovering.
