The DNR is encouraging you to practice social distancing while recreating on lakes and rivers this Fourth of July weekend:
“You are out with your family, you’re boat is your space, you’re able to social distance. And I guess with the rafting– it’s recommended at this time to not be rafting boats together because we are still under the guidance of social distancing.”
The DNR’s Lisa Dugan says to stay at least six feet away from people who are not from the same household. This is essential on boats as well as at boat launches, fishing piers, and docks. When launching and loading the boat, give others plenty of time and space to finish launching or loading before approaching.
