Election judges are needed for the 2020 election on Primary Day, August 11; and Election Day, November 3. Residents who are fluent in languages other than English are also needed to assist diverse populations of voters.
Election judges receive training and are responsible for a wide range of duties, including setting up and tearing down a polling location, greeting and registering voters, demonstrating how to vote and providing ballots, overseeing ballot-counting machines, assisting voters as needed, and compiling precinct voter statistics at the end of the day.
Potential judges must meet certain eligibility requirements. Those interested in becoming an election judge can apply online. Election judges can choose to volunteer or be paid based on precinct policy.
Measures to keep polling places clean, reduce the transmission of germs on Election Day, and protect voters, election judges and staff will be implemented for the 2020 election.
