(Monday) night, the Mankato City Council will consider taking the next steps in potentially requiring masks to be worn in public. The issue has been talked about at the state level as well according to MDH Commissioner Jan Malcom.
“The strength of saying something is required as compared to recommended does matter,” said Malcom. “We’re talking about that and looking at that quite closely and we’re also noting cities and states across the country changing to a requirement to do so.”
Malcom says there’s an increasing amount of data to prove that wearing masks is effective in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
