State Representative Jeff Brand of St. Peter says Minnesota lawmakers’ failure to pass police reform measures in the recently completed legislative session was inexcusable.
“There were thousands of people marching in the streets, not just in Minneapolis and St. Paul, but in St. Peter, Montevideo, Duluth, and St.Cloud demanding change and not getting it,” said Brand. “I don’t know why we can’t work together to make sure what happened to George Floyd doesn’t happen to another individual in this state.”
Brand says the time for change is now. He says putting off the issue will cause police reform to be put on the backburner.
