The Minnesota Department of Health is offering new guidelines for visiting residents in long-term care facilities. MDH Commissioner Jan Malcom says they’re trying to balance to need to keep at-risk residents healthy with their psychosocial well-being.
“Outdoor visits can establish that connection, especially when they’re done in a safe and responsible way,” said Malcom. “All of these guidelines are effective immediately and are available on our website.”
Malcom says the COVID-19 pandemic remains serious and many of the restrictions on long-term care facilities will need to be in place for quite some time.
