There have been numerous calls for Governor Walz to allow businesses to open up completely. The Governor says Minnesota is ahead of most states when it comes to re-opening.

“If you took the 50 states, we are clearly in the top 25 percent on what is open”, said Walz. “So the idea that we’re trailing other states and somehow dragging our feet clearly isn’t true.”

Walz was asked if the protests went on, why can’t businesses open?

“We saw civil unrest unlike most of us have seen in our lifetimes,” said Walz. “But most of it was done outside. There’s a big difference between crowds outside and crowds inside.”

The Governor says the state’s job is to create consumer confidence to allow customers to return to businesses.
