Governor Tim Walz and Senate Republicans remain far apart on a spending number for state public works projects. Walz is proposing $2.6 billion, while Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka’s number is closer to $1.35 billion. Red Wing Mayor Sean Dowse says…

“My city and other communities across Greater Minnesota need a large bonding bill now to help us recover from the current recession and to continue to thrive as vibrant communities for the future.”

 

In total, communities across the state are asking lawmakers for more than $5 billion bonding money.
