State Senator Julie Rosen of Vernon Center says police reform conversation at the statehouse needs to include all parties.

“You cannot do a knee-jerk reaction to this,” said Rosen. “These issues need to be discussed but if we don’t do it correctly we will suffer the consequences.”

Governor Walz introduced a series of police accountability and reform measures Thursday including the use of force, alternatives to policing, oversight, voting restoration for felons, community healing, prosecution, and investigation reform, training expansion, and the prohibition of warrior training and chokeholds.
