Blue Earth County Fair Postpones the 2020 Fair

#FairStrong has become a slogan of many County Fairs this year and we were hoping to be able to remain strong and giving the residence of Blue Earth County and surrounding communities something to look forward to. However, at the Blue Earth County Fair Association Board Meeting last evening, it was decided to postpone our 162nd Blue Earth County Fair, slated to take place July 23rd – 26th. With safety and the CDC COVID-19 Guidelines concerns, we felt at this point, it made it impossible to move forward with this year’s Fair in keeping all attendees safe. We are continuing to move forward with our Compact Car Races and the Demo Derby and will make a final decision on them at our June 24th meeting. As we continue to plan what we are now calling “Blue Earth County Summer Smash” which would take place that same weekend the Fair was schedule to have happen. It is our hope and prayer that as we continue to plan and move forward in this ever changing world as we know it that the guidelines might be lifted allowing us to have more people to come to an outside events. Our goal as always is to give our attendees and drivers a show filled with excitement and fun.

I know that this decision was not and easy one to make for all that were involved from Board to Committee Members alike. We as the Board, needed to look at all aspects of our Fair…from volunteers, Fair-goers, 4H family, vendors and each and every other component that it takes to put on an event of this magnitude.

So as we take that slogan #FairStrong, we as a board will move forward and remain Strong as we start to plan the 162nd Blue Earth County Fair which is slated to happen in July of 2021.
