Congressman Jim Hagedorn (MN-01) today announced that the Mayo Health System has received an additional allocation of 48 vials of the antiviral drug, Remdesivir, to help fight the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since May 9, three southern Minnesota health systems – Avera, Mayo and Sanford – have received a total of 242 vials of the drug from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
“Over past three weeks, the Mayo Clinic, Sanford Health and Avera have been in touch with my office about their allocations of Remdesivir anti-viral. I am pleased to announce that with the cooperation of HHS, all three health systems have received allocations that will help combat the pandemic and keep southern Minnesotans safe,” said Hagedorn.
